National Research Internships Program (NRIP)

A significant endorsement of AMSI Intern, Australian Government funding through Supporting more women in STEM careers: Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute (AMSI)—National Research Internship Program will increase the program’s scale and impact with a focus on participation of women in STEM innovation to address gender inequity and build innovation capability.  While there is a gender equality focus this program is open to male and females and we encourage both to apply. Open to all eligible postgraduate students, exposure to real-world industry research is essential to secure Australia’s innovation future and the health of its science, technology, engineering and mathematics workforce.

The AMSI Intern program will deliver 1400 PhD student internships into industry over four years.

This program will generate new partnerships with both industry and universities across Australia, including rural and regional universities, and provide direct support to industry partners taking on PhD interns.
